The Food Which Endures: Living a Eucharistic Life: Lying Prostrate Before the Blessed Sacrament

Once again a blogger out there confirms my inner feelings by writing:
The Food Which Endures: Living a Eucharistic Life: Lying Prostrate Before the Blessed Sacrament This blogger writes...So today, I again prostrated myself before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. I was with my son, who is five years old, and he was puzzled and thought what I was doing was funny. I tried to explain my actions. Again, I had a wonderful feeling--of peace, of the rightness of it. And then, my son made a moving, loving gesture. He laid himself across my back. We were both prostrate before the Lord. It was a good day.

Against All Heresies: Why the Young Love the Old

I finally found another blogger out there who has articulated perfectly that sinking suspicion I've had as of late that Mass as I've come to know it is NOT Mass as God intends it. I have a secret longing that I must pursue - tomorrow I will go to the local monastery and attend my first ever latin Mass!!! I just want to experience it and see what happens...Against All Heresies: Why the Young Love the Oldputs this into words better than I can. Here's a snippet:

Why does the Latin Mass appeal to youth? Why isn’t it dying out? If it really is an anachronism why does it gain strength?First I believe it is because the youth do not like to be condescended to. They want challenge, sacrifice, idealism. They want to worship God and have become awfully tired of worshipping themselves and their friends. Being your own god is the quickest path to atheism I know.

Mary Grace

We love you so much. You make me work harder and do better and change more than any other child of mine. I know growing is tough sometimes. Change is difficult. But you are a strong girl and I know that you will get through the hard changes this year. You are loved more than you know! - Mom

spiritual warfare

This video would be a great motivator/educator for young boys. We need to re-charge the masculine nature within our boys and channel it for its proper use - spiritual warfare. Sure wish the Church and the catholic schools would do more to motivate our boys to see themselves and their strength and their masculine gifts in this proper perspective.
