The Death of Womanhood

True womanhood is DEAD!

I know many women. I see women everyday, hear them call in radio shows, and fill up the tv with all kinds of images and words. I read the paper, blogs, and generally follow the trends of pop culture. I have watched The Oprah Show, and seen and heard her loyal followers worship at her altar. The religion of self-love and personal fulfillment reigns supreme. The mantras of "celebrate you" and "personal-empowerment" have attached themselves to women like leaches sucking every natural instinct and impulse right out of them, leaving behind self-centered, pleasure gluttons!

This is the legacy of women? It disgusts me! I am repulsed, angered, and at times despairing, at the lack of women who have ANY CLUE as to what it MEANS to BE A WOMAN today! The modern woman speaks out of both sides of her mouth. She is full of radical contradictions. In one breath she expounds the virtues of self-love and nurturing her own body. In the next breath she is staking the claim that her "body is a battleground" and that often new life is THE ENEMY! She partakes in pleasures of all kinds and puts herself high on a pedestal because she is WOMAN. Woman is powerful, you see and she must be rewarded and compensated for all her power and greatness. woman contributes greatly to society. Woman has always been the underdog trampled under foot by the patriarchal society in which we live. She has earned her due!

What a load of crap!

There is only one kind of women who truely "earns her due" and that is an AUTHENTIC WOMAN. An authentic woman understands that the profound greatness of womanhood is gained through humility and obedience and is always life-giving, not life-denying! She understands that "her due" will not come in this life necessarily, but will come in the next. A simple Jewish girl who said "yes" to God and "yes" to self-SACRIFICE, is her model. No Oprah worship here! I am tired of the selfish whiners, the egotistical narcissists claiming to represent authentic womanhood. Where have the real women gone? They are at home with their CHILDREN!!!! Maybe that its why they don't get any "pub" or any airtime. They are too busy doing the real POWERFUL work of WOMAN - creating and nurturing NEW LIFE!

What go me all fired up today? This quote taken from Jill Stanek's website. It is a partial quote taken from a quite lengthy comment posted to Jill's website. It was posted in response to a video that Jill had up showing an abortion and the dead babies produced... The woman is, I believe, representative of many, if not most women today. She is the epitome of "modern womanhood".

She states: "A woman is no more obligated to loan her uterus to a fetus for 9 months than is a man to donate his kidney to the homeless man on the corner of Madison and 5th Avenue...Innocence has no bearing on it, and you do not have any right to control or use my body for your benefit if I do not grant you the right to do it. The same goes for a fetus."

I guess she has either forgotten or sees no contradiction in the fact that she helped PUT that "fetus" into her uterus. She gladly or maybe even mistakenly, accepted the potential for life into her body. She rejects any and all responsibility to this new life, treating it as an enemy. Her body is a battleground. The tragic consequences of modern womanhood go far beyond abortion and sleaziness, and egotism.

Modern womanhood has ushered in the Death of Womanhood.
