I just got off the phone with Tim.......Our friend - Lani - died last night. The name Lani means sky or heaven in Hawaiian. I am positive that this woman's name befits the place she currently resides.
We will most definitely be going to her wake and funeral. I dread to see her like that, but I feel it's truly necessary to say goodbye to those we love "officially". I think it does matter. I am sad that she is gone. But I am also glad that her suffering is over. For those of you who had been following it, Lani is the "mom" in my previous post "Starving Mom to Death".
She was a kind and beautiful woman. She was generous and quick to compliment. She loved my husband. She saw in him great strength and dignity and I was glad to share him with her in a very small way. She had been a widow for a long time. I could see how much she missed her own husband. She must be so happy to finally be reunited with him. I loved her. So did Tim. We are better for having known her.

My thoughts and prayers go out for Lani and her family as well as yours. Also, may God bless you and Tim and all others who care for and concern for the most often neglected and forgotten.
